The PNE Group is one of the most experienced wind farm developers. From the search for a suitable site to the planning and approval phase up to the construction of the complete wind farm, we provide the competence and experience gained from realising more than 260 wind farms. In addition, we take over the technical and commercial management of wind farms, including during the operating phase, both of our own wind farms and those of our customers.

During the development phase of a project, we cooperate as closely and transparently as possible with local residents, associations, municipalities and public authorities in order to achieve the broadest possible acceptance.

A major part of every project is securing the funding. A thorough analysis of the construction and operating costs is required; this also has to take legal and technical requirements into account. The PNE Group negotiates and concludes agreements with banks, insurance companies and other stakeholders and decision-makers during the project planning phase.

Once approval has been obtained, the construction of the wind farm and the necessary infrastructure including cables and roads can begin. Everything is perfectly coordinated, from the construction of the wind power station and the installation of the various parts through to completion. We also use the latest technologies to create high-capacity wind farms. The project is planned in close cooperation with everyone involved on site right from the start.

Once the wind farm has been sold and commissioned, it is handed over ready for operation to our reliable partners - institutional investors, energy suppliers, investment companies and international groups of companies. Efficient companies and suppliers guarantee that the wind farm will keep running continuously over time. We do not sell all of the wind farms we develop. Some of them we own and operate ourselves. The wind farms we develop consequently make a significant contribution to climate protection while decreasing dependence on finite energy sources.

The PNE Group also takes over the technical and commercial management of wind farms. This encompasses firstly the continuous control of the wind farm, and secondly the coordination of maintenance and repair work. We make sure that the wind farm is serviced and maintained regularly and that the wind power turbines run as efficiently as possible - both in our own wind farms and in those of our customers.

Like all technical facilities, wind farms have a specific useful life. The normal run-time is between 20 and 30 years; afterwards, older turbine models may be replaced by newer ones with a higher capacity, a process known as "repowering". During repowering, the survey is reexamined and the approval procedure repeated as a matter of routine. Then the cycle can begin anew. By way of repowering, the generation of electricity can be multiplied with a lower number of wind power turbines.

The development of wind farm projects and repowering are associated with risks and uncertainties. Some developers or wind farm operators are therefore looking for a strong partner. Here, too, the PNE Group is ready for partnership-based solutions or the acquisition of projects or wind farms.
